What is an opening sequence?

An opening sequence is the method by which films present their title, key production and cast members. It usually follows but should not be confused with the opening credits which are generally nothing more than a series of names.


In the opening sequence of most films they display their company logo. E.g. 'In her shoes'...






In the opening sequence they include credits such as the producers name, names of people staring in the film and director... 









In the opening sequence most films include action, to excite the audience...
