Preliminary project- Ruby and megan

The feedback we received from our edited version was fairly positive the favourite shot was the close up at the end of the clip, we agreed with this as we felt this particular shot showed her looking guilty/suspicious (the sound effect added extra tension). Also a camera shot that was given positive feedback was the over the shoulder shot this showed both characters' reactions during the interegation.

The problematic feedback given was the random jump cuts when the characters were sitting facing each other a example of this was when the interrogator's leg moved too quickly, the reasoning for this was the wrong use of jump cut during the editing.

Lauren and Serena's Preliminary Project..

The feedback we received from the audience after viewing our preliminary project was overall very positive. We also received some constructive criticism on ways to improve the clip. The audience mainly suggested that we look at the shot on 0.13 where we may have crossed the 180 degree line. If we were to re-film this then we would keep to the rule and from the shot over the right shoulder. This was the only negative feedback we received.

We were very pleased as we received lots of positive comments about our clip, feedback included that the whole clip flowed nicely, and used many different cuts to make the edit look professional. The audience particularly liked the shot reverse shot where dialog was exchanged between characters as the edit was quick and hardly noticed, the only improvement was if the 180 degree rule hadn't been broken.

The favourite clip however was the opening edit to the video of the door handle. We made the decision to show the door being opened from one side, opening into the room from the other and then back to the original side of the door for the dramatic closing.

Overall we are very pleased on how our first filming and editing task went and we are very happy with the comments we received.
